Snowbird Technologies to Demonstrate Metal 3D Printing at Modern Warfare Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Nov. 1, 2023 - PRLog -- Snowbird Technologies today announced that it will demonstrate the patented Snowbird Additive Mobile Manufacturing Technology system — SAMM Tech — at Modern Warfare Week on November 16, 2023.

Modern Warfare Week is an annual event facilitated by the Global Special Operations Forces Foundation — GlobalSOF — that brings the SOF community together for a week of networking, learning, and hands-on demonstrations. This year's event will take place November 13-16 at Ft. Liberty, North Carolina. The focus of the event is to educate and connect through discussions about the future of warfare from a SOF perspective. The agenda for the last day of the event is demo day, where industry and businesses can demonstrate their products in a field setting. Snowbird Technologies found this to be an ideal opportunity to showcase their new metal 3D printer for contested logistics and forward-operating environments.

Snowbird Additive Mobile Manufacturing Technology — SAMM Tech — is the first-of-its-kind deployable additive manufacturing system that can print and machine larger complex metal parts in remote locations. The patented gantry technology can perform metal additive and subtractive manufacturing while surviving harsh climates and rough terrain. Using laser-powered directed energy deposition, standard welding wire can be used to repair parts or 3D print new parts as large as 4.5 cubic feet. Attendees will be able to see how the printer processes a drawing and completes a part production cycle all in one system.

In addition to SAMM Tech, Snowbird Technologies will feature an air-to-water generator (AWG) and SMART Environmental Control Unit. The AWG will be able to produce potable drinking water onsite without a ground source. The SMART ECU will show the latest telematics capability that can monitor and diagnose a network of ECUs from one central location.
