Marcionite Church Urges Prayers For Baptized Palestinian Christians

Bishop Theophilus warns, "Our Father will not look kindly on any government that engages in or facilitates the collective punishment of Palestinian Christians."
GAZA CITY, Palestinian Territory - Oct. 9, 2023 - PRLog -- In a Sunday statement designed to both comfort Palestinian Christians and ward off their persecutors, Bishop Andrew Theophilus of the Marcionite Christian Church urged Christians of all denominations throughout the world to pray for the safety and health of Palestinian Christians (translated from Greek).

"Today, we are reminded of the persecution suffered by the Pre-Nicene Christians as we look at the current plight of Palestinian Christians living in the same region they did, who, through no fault of their own, are beset upon by all sides in the most dangerous location on earth," said Theophilus. "As the longest military occupation in the history of the world enters its 56th year, now is an especially important time for us to pray for their health and safety and for the end of their persecution."

"No imagined, fictitious or borrowed Babylonian or Bronze Age 'deity' can compare to the power of our Christian God as revealed to us only through Jesus Christ. And it is through His Holy Spirit we fervently pray for the protection of our Palestinian Christian brothers and sisters. Just as we know Jesus will trample Satan under his feet, we know justice will come for those who persecute His children as it is written in I Thessalonians 2:15."

Continued Bishop Theophilus, "while it is worth noting that the world is watching right now, what should concern those plotting collective punishment against Palestinian Christians is that our God is watching. We are reminded that collective punishment is often a two-way street and, of course, hope a repetition of Sodom proves unnecessary."
