PRLog -- Recently, Minnesota Second Amendment Lawyer Lynne Torgerson was retained to provide advice on how a person may inherit firearms from a family member living in Wisconsin and the deceased did not have a will. For example, is a person required to register the firearms? Is the person required to have the transfer go through an FFL Dealer? This required research into Minnesota State law, Wisconsin State law, and federal law. Not a small task. People often think that lawyers already know all the answers. Au contraire mon ami. However, while lawyers do not always know all the answers, a lawyer can find the answer via legal research. A person can retain a lawyer to do legal research, to find answers to important legal questions. Generally, this is called an Opinion Letter. And, for example, in the instant case mentioned above, Ms. Torgerson found the favorable answers that this person did not have to register the firearms he inherited from his brother in Wisconsin, and, he did not have to conduct the transfer through an FFL dealer. Accordingly, all of it could remain private. And indeed, that is what we Second Amendment supporters want correct? Well done Ms. Torgerson!
