Follow on Google News | Best-selling author Mitch Albom headlines 9th Annual Greater Naples Jewish Book FestivalAuthors, readers renew in-person gatherings at the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples December-to-April events
By: Jewish Federation of Greater Naples Albom will kick off the book festival's ninth season on Sunday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. at the Nina Iser Jewish Cultural Center in Naples, 4720 Pine Ridge Road. The $40 admission fee includes a copy of Albom's latest book, "The Little Liar," to be released in November. The festival is designed to highlight books about Jewish subjects or written by Jewish authors. "The Little Liar," Albom's new novel, moves from a small village in Greece during the Holocaust to America, following the intertwined lives of three survivors "forever changed by the perils of deception and the grace of redemption." "We couldn't be more pleased to host an author of Mitch Albom's caliber to start the 2023-24 series," said Robin Mintz, book festival chair for the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples, the local event's sponsor. "After several years of virtual programming necessitated by the pandemic, Neapolitans can look forward to sampling a wide array of offerings – from historical fiction to a variety of nonfiction – from a cadre of talented writers ready to captivate our audiences in person." There is one exception: British journalist Jonathan Freedland, whose "The Escape Artist: The Man Who Broke Out of Auschwitz to Warn the World" won the 2023 National Jewish Book Award, will appear live from London virtually, although the Naples component will remain in-person. Details for that event and the remaining festival authors, can be found below.
