WINNOWING Sweeps Film Festival Awards

HONOLULU - Sept. 7, 2023 - PRLog -- IT is my distinct pleasure to announce that the JET Progress production of WINNOWING was awarded Best International Short Film; Best Producers, Best Director; Best Editor; Best Sound Design; Best Writer; and Best Supporting Actor in the 2023 Great Indian International Film Festival! WINNOWING, a mystery/drama about perseverance in which two actors persevere through multiple script readings in a final audition for an unspecified "Really Big Film," recently also received an award for the Best Experimental Short Film in the 2023 Thilsri International Film Festival, and an Honorable Mention Best International Short Film Award in the 2023 Blue Bird International Film Festival for it's unique minimalistic, "soft" neo-noir approach.

Starring Lead Actress Setsuko Tsuchiya (aka Sakura Kai) and co-starring Daniel S. Janik, each playing two different roles and reading six characters, WINNOWING was produced by Daniel S. Janik, Setsuko Tsuchiya and William Maltese; debut directed by Daniel S. Janik; from a screenplay of the same name by William Maltese; with cinematography by Daniel S. Janik and Setsuko Tsuchiya; original music by Zachary M. Oliver and editing by Daniel S. Janik.

WINNOWING is a B&W film available on a High Definition (HD) DVD or BluRay at https://winnowing.yolasite.com. It is also available for 24-hour HD streaming with or without "Burned In" captioning. The BluRay version includes original B&W versions with and without captions, as well as a unique color version along with interviews and statements by the director, actors, script writer and musician as well as outtakes and other features.
