![]() Savannah Philharmonic Returns to The Lucas with Guest Conductor Kellen Gray this Saturday"As we kick off the 15th Anniversary Season of the Savannah Philharmonic, we are very excited to present the music of Nunes-Garcia and Mozart. There is no doubt that Mozart's Gran Partita is one of the most important pieces in the history of classical music," states Music and Artistic Director Keitaro Harada. "It is not only an excellent opportunity to showcase the beautiful wind colors of our SavPhil musicians, but also a great pleasure to welcome Maestro Kellen Gray to the Lucas Theatre." No stranger to Savannah and a native of South Carolina, Gray's conducting endeavors include performances across the country and around the globe. He is also the founder and curator of the Charleston Symphony's Project Aurora, a programming and performance initiative dedicated to celebrating African American arts and culture through meaningful and impactful music. "It's difficult to describe being back in Savannah, a city that has been home to me, to conduct this wonderful orchestra," shares Kellen Gray. "The anticipation of seeing familiar faces and making music with old friends is exhilarating. I truly can't wait to share this wonderful program with you all!" "The Genius of Mozart" takes place on Saturday, August 26th at 7:30pm at the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. Limited tickets are available.
