MoU Signed to Accelerate Sustainable Development through Critical Thinking and Academic Excellence

PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Aug. 24, 2023 - PRLog -- In a landmark collaboration to advance sustainable development and foster critical thinking in higher education, the Global Strategic Institute for Sustainable Development (GSISD) and the Higher Education Academy of Research and Teaching (HEART), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have solidified their commitment through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at the HEART in Peshawar.
The Chief Executive of GSISD, Dr. Muhammad Shakeel Ahmad, and Professor Tasbiullah, Director of  HEART, signed the MoU, underscoring their shared dedication to nurturing a culture of critical thinking, creativity, and innovation within the realm of sustainable development and higher education. The event was graced by the presence of Professor Qasim Khan Marwat, the former Director of the Higher Education Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who lauded the collaborative efforts of both entities.
The MoU sets forth a comprehensive plan to enhance the academic and research landscape in colleges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Through the implementation of specialized training and research programs offered by HEART, the accord aims to elevate the standard of education and research culture in the region.
Dr. Shakeel expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, "This MoU establishes a solid foundation for effective collaboration in achieving our shared objectives." Professor Tasbiullah echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the MoU will usher in fresh opportunities for joint research and development initiatives focused on nurturing critical thinking and research culture at the higher education level.
Esteemed dignitaries including Professor Ahsan ur Rahim from Abbottabad , Prof. Jamshed Khan, President of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Professors and Lecturer Association; Prof. Rashid Mughal, General Secretary of the Professors' Association for Students' Services (PASS); and Dr. Amir Zia, Director of Research, Planning, and Development at GSISD were present at the ceremony.
The collaborative effort is poised to positively impact more than 10,000 faculty members and over one million students across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. By integrating critical thinking initiatives and reinforcing the academic culture, the MoU aims to accelerate sustainable development and uplift the educational experience.
