El Vez is the Latin sensation that has swept the nation and the world. He has toured Australia, Germany, Spain, Norway, Holland, Austria, England, France, Belgium, Canada and more. He has headlined festivals and opened for such greats as David Bowie, Carlos Santana, Linda Ronstadt, and the B-52's.

For the first time ever, El Vez's music is translated into dance in ÓRALE! premiering on September 7-9, 2023 presented by DHPCo. and co-presented by Z Space.  Six leading national Latinx dance makers choreograph to the live music of El Vez: Alfonso Cervera (Columbus, Ohio), Eric Garcia (SF), Stephanie Martinez (Chicago, IL), Gabriel Mata (Washington D.C.), Yvonne Montoya (Tucson, AZ) and Artistic Director David Herrera (SF) come together to make one singular dance and music event.

A modern mulitcultural hybrid of Americana and Mexicano, El Vez is more than entertainment, he is a thinking man's Elvis, a post-modern King with a Latinx twist, the Chicano experience presented and told through the songs of Elvis.

Imagine Ceasar Chavez fronting a Punk Rock band, Liberace teaching Chicano Studies, Tom Jones singing about the Virgin de Guadalupe, throw in multiple costumes changes, dancing back up singers and a rocking band and you have imagined El Vez!
