Voting was conducted by a select panel of members of the National Sports Media Association (NSMA). The voters selected the 20-year-old tennis phenom Carlos Alcaraz based on his incredible performance in winning the Wimbledon title for the first time in a tense match over Novak Djokovic, in the final 1-6 7-6 6-1 3-6 6-4. In all, Alcaraz has won 12 singles titles, including 4 ATP Masters 1000, the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Wimbledon title. He is ranked world No.1 in the ATP singles rankings.
