Swingin' Musical/Talk Event Celebrates Nelson Riddle, Frank Sinatra and Holiday GivingThis festive program combines a fascinating discussion, live music and a kick-off to the holiday giving season, while spotlighting the brilliant musical genius of Nelson Riddle and his stellar connection with Frank Sinatra. As a special request, producer Karen Morris is asking all event attendees, in the spirit of the December holiday season, to consider donating to her favorite cause, the Virtual Toy Drive at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital (BMSCH), part of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and RWJ Barnabas Health. There are two ways to donate. Either donate a hospital-approved toy or book/game gift to their virtual toy drive, by browsing via their Amazon Wish List. Or donate funds to the Virtual Toy Drive which allows BMSCH to supply their patients with age and developmentally appropriate toys as needed. https://www.classy.org/ The featured guest speaker at this celebratory event is Christopher Riddle, a consummate professional and acclaimed conductor/musical director of The Nelson Riddle Orchestra, who has led the band for the past 38 years since the passing of his dad, Nelson Riddle. Christopher will speak directly from his heart, with warmth and joy, expressing love for his dad, and all he accomplished, as he continues to keep the Riddle family musical legacy alive in story and song. World-renowned arranger, composer and bandleader, Nelson Riddle, recorded over 100+ albums, masterfully conducting The Nelson Riddle Orchestra, often referred to as the "World's Most Recorded Orchestra," accompanying the top iconic vocalists of the 20th century, including Frank Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosemary Clooney, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Dean Martin, Barbra Streisand, Linda Ronstadt and many more. The insightful talk will also focus on Nelson Riddle's collaboration with Frank Sinatra, which was exceptionally noteworthy, as he was credited for reviving Sinatra's career with the Capitol recording of I've Got the World on a String. Nelson and Frank also combined forces on one of the most exciting and sensational tunes of the era, I've Got You Under My Skin, creating pure magic. Quoting Frank Sinatra, "In the 1950's, Nelson Riddle and I wanted to record groups of songs that set a mood. We recorded wonderful, soulful, tender albums; as well as hot swinging ones." Guest interviewer Charles "Chuck" Granata will be asking Christopher the pertinent questions that will be on all attendees minds, as well as direct the Q&A segment of the show. Mr. Granata is a leading expert on Frank Sinatra, a writer, record producer, music historian and archivist.
