The defendant had a long term marriage. They had children together. The defendant's wife began cheating on him. Defendant's wife then began consulting with a divorce attorney. Defendant and his wife had a gathering, at which defendant began consuming alcohol. Defendant's wife's friend began taunting defendant that his wife was cheating on him. Words were exchanged. Defendant was charged with felony threats of violence. The definition of threats of violence, the elements of the offense include that a person made a threat to commit a crime of violence with intent to terrorize the person, or in reckless disregard of causing terror. Defendant had no prior felony conviction. Fortunately, Mr. Torgerson got the charge dismissed, thus keeping her client's record free of any felony conviction. Well done Ms. Torgerson.
