Since its establishment in 1997, the SIA Foundation has awarded more than $2.9 million to fund nonprofit projects across Indiana. The newest recipients represent Clinton, DeKalb, Lake, LaPorte, Marion, Monroe, Tippecanoe and Wabash counties. The SIA Foundation awards grants twice annually to nonprofit organizations seeking up to $15,000 in capital funding for arts and culture, health and welfare, or education projects. Recipients for the spring grant cycle are: Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum (DeKalb County) – $9,960.00 Audio-visual equipment upgrades for special events area Bloomington Developmental Learning Center (Monroe County) – $9,896.00 Dutch doors for classrooms Dayton Elementary School PTO (Tippecanoe County) – $2,487.78 Tables and chairs for special events Hanna Community Center (Tippecanoe County) – $11,340.14 Supplies to improve educational garden The Honeywell Foundation (Wabash County) – $3,850.00 Musical instruments and art equipment for community programs Indiana State Museum (Marion County) – $4,000.00 Rigamajig (large-scale loose parts building and engineering kit for kids) LaCrosse Volunteer Fire Department (LaPorte County) – $11,265.00 Battery packs, charging station and cylinders for self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs) Millie's Thrift Stores (Tippecanoe County) – $9,050.00 Parking lot repairs and improvements Sojourner Truth House (Lake County) – $9,326.00 Three-door freezer for food pantry Songwriter's Association of Mid-North Indiana (Tippecanoe County) – $14,997.00 Audio-visual equipment for performance and education space Town of Mulberry (Clinton County) – $9,989.00 Gazebo for community park Tree Lafayette (Tippecanoe County) – $1,714.00 Components for deep root watering and feeding system William Henry Harrison High School (Tippecanoe County) – $8,988.00 Computers and related equipment for Multi-Media Technology Resource Center About the SIA Foundation The SIA Foundation was established in October 1997 with a $1 million gift from Subaru of Indiana Automotive. SIA has made subsequent contributions of $4 million, for total contributions of $5 million. The SIA Foundation uses the funding to award grants and matching gifts to nonprofit organizations in Indiana. The SIA Foundation has awarded over $2.9 million in capital grants. End
