Wágner Resurfaces with Second Single "I Ran" After 30-Year HiatusBy: wgnrSOUNDS Born and raised in New York City, Wágner was a well-known name in the vibrant music scene of the city from the eighties all the way through the late nineties. Having fronted such bands as Buzz Prophets and Nerve, he performed throughout the East Coast. His debut EP, A Way of Life, released by Novus Records and produced by Rob "Bung" Bengston at The Workshoppe Recording Studios, paved his way in the industry at the age of 17. "I'm thrilled to share our 'I Ran' with the world," Wágner said. Our new spin on "I Ran (So Far Away)" from A Flock of Seagulls was great fun and took me back to my youth. Working with Mauricio Mirapalheta has been a remarkable experience, and I can't wait for fans to hear what we're creating together." Mirapalheta, noted for his roots in the metal and punk genres, has contributed significantly to this creative endeavor, combining his extensive experience as a collaborator, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Sonic Memories, the forthcoming album, slated for a Fall 2023 release, promises a blend of classic and contemporary covers of music from the 70s to the 90s, redefined by Wágner's potent vocal prowess and Mirapalheta's extraordinary musicianship. Wágner is currently in the studio, already working on a second album of all-original music with Mirapalheta.
