LONDON, Ontario - May 2, 2023 - PRLog -- The Hyde Park & District Lions Club, chartered in1980, has been a beacon of service and community development for over four decades. They're taking their commitment to the next level by inducting 12 bright and passionate youths to form The Hyde Park & District Leo Club.

These young Leos, driven by a desire to give back to their community, have embarked on a life-changing journey. With guidance from the Lions Club, they are set to make a tangible impact on their surroundings and contribute to the betterment of society.

The ceremony took place on April 24, 2023. It was a memorable occasion that saw Mayor Josh Morgan, city councillors Steve Lehman and Corrine Rahman, and members of the district cabinet in attendance. The city dignitaries presented the new Leos with certificates from the City of London, marking the beginning of their journey as agents of change.

The Hyde Park & District Lions Club, part of the international Lions Clubs network, empowers volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, and promote international understanding. The five global causes Lions Clubs focus on are diabetes, environment, hunger, childhood cancer, and vision.

The induction of the 12 Leos is a testament to the Hyde Park & District Lions Club's unwavering commitment to youth empowerment. These future leaders are already gearing up for their first service project, scheduled for Sunday May 7th. This collaborative effort with the Hyde Park & District Lions and the youth of St Vincent de Paul will see them don their yellow vests and embark on an environmental service project. The Leos will collect trash along the highway and Maple Grove Park, which the Hyde Park & District Lions adopted in 2018.

In addition to the Leo Club's formation, the Hyde Park & District Lions Club welcomed three new members into their ranks, further bolstering their ability to serve the community.

As the Hyde Park & District Lions Club continues to expand its reach and impact, the new Leos are a shining example of the club's dedication to nurturing the next generation of leaders. With a shared vision and unwavering support from the Lions Club, these young volunteers will undoubtedly make lasting contributions to their community.

In the words of Melvin Jones, founder of Lions Clubs International, "You can't get very far until you start doing something for somebody else."  Spirit of service is at the heart of the Hyde Park & District Lions Club and the newly formed Leo Club, inspiring to take action and make the world a better place.
