Office Furniture Solutions Unveils Rebrand, Changes Name to Castell
New Brand Identity Reflects Focus on Workplace Design Services
"The shift from Office Furniture Solutions to Castell reflects the journey our company has taken over the last 25 years," said Principal and Co-Founder, Bill Compton. "Accommodations for remote work, hybrid schedules, and flexible hours have allowed many in the workforce to embrace a better work-life balance and allow for new opportunities in workspace design and furnishing."
Castell came to life in 1997 as Office Furniture Solutions, building swiftly from a pre-owned workstation provider to a full-scale commercial interior furnishing and office design outfitter. To meet the performance demands of today's rapidly changing workforce, Castell has evolved once again, strengthening its team and service offerings around workplace design consulting, facilities and move services, custom build furniture, and architectural products.
"Following the pandemic, many companies have been grappling with how to rethink their spaces to accommodate health and safety issues, hybrid workspaces, and employee wellness," said Dave Kiwior, president of Castell. "We've added new individuals to our team to focus on these critical services and to prepare for people returning to the office."
As Southeast Michigan's premier Teknion dealer, Castell is provided access to a global, vertically integrated, and design-forward portfolio of office systems and related workspace products backed by a shared manufacturer commitment to customer service.
"Castell is focused on using design to bring people together," said Bruce Bullard, principal and co-founder of Castell. "Creating spaces that make employees want to return to work could mean communal areas that allow for safe and comfortable socialization during the day, or desking that meets the needs of more than one employee throughout the week. Amenities for employees, such as an onsite gym, healthy food options, places for comfortable breaks, and even childcare will increasingly be called for."
Castell's brand namesake, Spanish for "castle," comes from the name given to a unique and historic cultural tradition: human towers. These 6-10 story high constructs were popularized in 18th century Catalonia, Spain and have become recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Heritage of Humanity.
Castell is a workplace design consultancy and office furniture dealer serving metro Detroit, Southeast Michigan, and the greater Midwest for 25 years. In addition to a dedicated group of Workplace Consultants, Castell comprises a first-rate team of licensed interior designers and an in-house group of certified installers and warehousing agents, all working together to support clients from floor to ceiling and beginning to end.
