Col. Campbell spent twenty-four years serving in the USAF and garnered a remarkable list of achievements, most famously surviving heavy anti-aircraft fire while flying a critical mission over Baghdad. According to her biography, she has flown more than 100 combat missions, clocked over 1800 hours in an A10 Warthog, and is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross for Heroism. As a Group Commander, Col. Campbell oversaw over one thousand US service personnel, located throughout South America, Central America and the Caribbean. During her distinguished career, she advised high level officials on national security and defense policies, was a Senior Fellow at a preeminent think tank, and supervised the Center for Character and Leadership Development at the Air Force Academy as its Director.
