NAMIWalks Southwest Ohio celebrates 20 years during May's Mental Health Awareness Month
Join NAMI Southwest Ohio on May 13 at Sawyer Point for a day full of hope, raising awareness and funds for mental health.
The funds raised provide free programs and services including support groups, classes, & presentations that bring NAMI's message of hope to everyone impacted by mental illness. The power of NAMI's mission to provide advocacy, education, support, and public awareness is being felt as never before. The achievement of "Mental Health for All" has never felt this critical yet closer to being realized. "We have a powerful chance to make a lasting impact on mental health right here in our community," says Executive Director, Katie Harper. "When NAMI Walks, we knock down walls. We topple obstacles. We show everyone that no one is alone, because everyone is encouraged. Part of what makes our event so special is the spirit of inclusion you can feel. NAMIWalks are much more than just a fundraiser, NAMIWalks are an awareness-raiser. We're united in knowing we're making a difference by coming together for mental health."
One hundred percent of funds raised support NAMI Southwest Ohio's free local mental health programs, resources, and services. NAMIWalks is supported by National Partner Alkermes, and local Premier Sponsor U.S. Bank.
