Krishan Myrick, Soph of Southeast HS in KC, MO, Announces Transfer to Pembroke Hill High for 2023-25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - April 10, 2023 - PRLog -- Krishan Myrick and family announced the transfer to the highly respected private school, Pembroke Hill.

The Pembroke Hill School is a progressive, inclusive, secular, coeducational, independent preparatory school for about 1,200 students in early years through high school, separated into four sections: early years - prekindergarten, kindergarten-5th grade, 6th-8th grade, and 9th-12th grade. Founded in 1910, Pembroke's motto is "Freedom and Responsibility".

Krishan has stated she will continue her academic and sports career at PembrokeHill. "The discussion was rather hard. My father really had supported the schools in our neighborhood with our limited resources. At Southeast, he donated a scoreboard controller, exercise equipment, training supplies, water and funds. I know he wanted more for me at Southeast. He supported teammates the same way. Coach Ramsey and my father have a great relationship. So, leaving the legacy my sister, La'Shonda and brother Gary started will hurt. But, my father based his desires off the Deion Sanders' decision to leave Jackson State. The opportunity is too great to pass up. God has opened a great door and I want to step in and make Pembroke Hill proud to have me these next years. I want to thank Mr. Bart Robinson and Mrs. Laura Linn for accepting me and my sister Jeanne Myrick. We will do our best to make you proud of your choice to accept us into your school. Thanks to all the alumni, staff and parents that make Pembroke Hill a great place to be a scholar athlete. I'm really excited to meet the Girls' basketball team. I saw what they almost accomplished this year at district and hope I can add to Coach Monahan's team and as my dad says, 'get a championship,'" said Krishan.

Besides Krishan being a great scholar, her sister, Jeanne, has the similar academic reports. Getting their starts at Paper, Pencils and Play daycare owned by Pam Jones and then, Kansas City's Brookside Charter school, the foundation has been set.

Jeanne has a artistic side that Pembroke Hill's visual arts and performing arts will develop. "I do thank Mr. Bart Robinson and Mrs. Laura Linn for accepting my daughters. I hope they take the opportunity and really appreciate it and be an asset to the community and others around them. At Southeast, I worried that academically, Krishan would not reach the heights she wanted. And our prayers were answered with Pembroke Hill. There were other schools that really offered opportunities for Krishan but not for Jeanne or the youngest, La'Nardo II. We want to build a legacy. And, we know that Pembroke Hill is the best choice for our girls going forward. And, yes, I told Krishan that it was a blessing to get the opportunity to attend such a wonder school with amazing facilities and people," stated Mr. Myrick Sr..

Krishan's BGE Shoes and Apparel basketball shoes that were released in 2021 will fit perfectly with the colors of Pembroke Hill School. "Yes, my dad says it is our destiny because he loves the University of Mississippi or Ole Miss and their colors are the same as Southeast and Pembroke. So, University of Ole Miss...hello," said Krishan.

Krishan Myrick has many accolades including being inducted into the National Society of High School Scholars which is a distinguished academic honor society, committed to recognizing the highest-achieving student scholars in more than 26,00 high schools across 170 countries. Krishan noted basketball guru, Clyde Harvey of Shooter's Touch Academy will continue to assist in her development on the court.
