PRLog -- Collective Development Inc. (CDI) is a troupe of artists out of Michigan that produce motion picture. Often their stories are based in different time periods and their most recent is no different. In 1944, German PWs were kept in camps throughout the Midwest with one such camp located in Algona, Iowa. The film was produced with the help of the entire community who helped provide locations, vehicles, and period props. The film also had many sponsors and product partners like Lerma Transportation, BioClean, Iowa State Bank, AK Chrome Kitchen, Hershey, Smithfield Foods, and Hormel. In some cases, they provided actual promotional and packaging from the 1940's.
The film premiered December 9
th and has continued to play theatres across the Midwest even at the time of this release. For those places that have not or will not get the film at their local theatre house, the opportunity to own or watch on home video is coming. CDI has inked a deal with their longtime distribution partner Bridgestone Multimedia Group. The film is being positioned to be made available on the run up to the 2023 holidays. The film has already helped the local museums in Algona that highlight the rich history shown in the movie.
The movie was directed by Anthony Hornus (Man's Best Friend) from an original script by DJ Perry (The Quest Trilogy, Wild Faith) which examines the lives of the prisoners, the guards, and the townspeople of Algona. The story examines the history that unfolded from fall 1944 until Christmas, where a unique gift of kindness forever changed this community.
