Money has no significance in the spiritual world...does it?Marc Maynon grapples with this age-old dilemma in his new music video "Something to Live For."
By: Marc Maynon Watch the new music video here! Singer/Songwriter Marc Maynon is back with a new music video starring his brother Joshua Krey. "Something to Live For" was originally released on Maynon's EP Watch Pot. Josh Krey played drums on the record back in 2015 and now, years later, stars in the music video. Maynon has since departed from the Britpop that marked his sound in the 2010s. "Something to Live For" might be from a bygone era but the music video is a testament to Maynon's growth as a video director. The piece is a fable about money and how our perspective changes the more money we have. There's no shortage of symbolism in his latest effort, which is typical of Maynon, however, collaborating with his brother on the video's concept produced what can only be called a spectacle. Watch the new music video here! "How would you feel if you unexpectedly came into some life-changing money?" I'm sure each would answer this question differently, but therein lies money's spiritual significance. Money, and how we feel about it, reveals our spiritual nature. We've all heard "Money doesn't equal happiness," or "The smarter you are the more money you have." Have you heard the saying Money is Power? I'm sure you have, however, these notions quickly fall apart against historical examples like Nicola Tesla and Nelson Mandela. I bet you haven't heard this one before: The more money you have the more spiritual you are? Before you disagree, let's divorce our preconceptions that spirituality is good and materialism is bad. Perhaps you'll assume I'm going to say: people who are generous with their wealth are more spiritual than those who greedily hoard it, however, money's spiritual significance is more complex than that. To comprehend money's spiritual significance, you have to shift your focus from what people do with money to how people feel about money. Most of us can only imagine how it feels to have a million dollars, but few of us have to imagine what it's like to be broke. When you have no money the material world won't let you be. "How am I going to feed my kids?" or "How am I going to keep the power on?" Wealth provides someone with a unique perspective. How they feel about their wealth, according to Maynon's new music video, reveals their spiritual nature. If they lose their wealth, an individual still retains a deeper spiritual understanding of themself. Photo: https://www.prlog.org/ End
