GUJARAT, India - Feb. 26, 2023 - PRLog -- Shri Abjibapa, also known as Bapashri or Abjibapashri, was a spiritual leader and founder of the Swaminarayan Sampraday in Gujarat, India. He was born on November 20, 1844, in the small village of Mahuva in Gujarat, to a family of farmers. From a young age, he had a keen interest in spirituality and was deeply influenced by the teachings of Swaminarayan, the founder of the Swaminarayan Sampraday.

Shri Abjibapa received his early education in the village and later moved to the nearby town of Junagadh to continue his studies. In 1873, he met Muktanand Swami, one of the disciples of Swaminarayan, and became his disciple. He dedicated his life to the service of the Swaminarayan Sampraday and spent many years spreading its teachings across Gujarat.

Shri Abjibapa founded several temples and ashrams where he taught the principles of the Sampraday and inspired people to live a life of devotion, compassion, and service. He was known for his wisdom and his ability to impart spiritual knowledge in a simple and practical way. He emphasized the importance of inner transformation and taught his disciples to cultivate virtues such as humility, love, and selflessness.

In addition to his spiritual work, Shri Abjibapa also worked tirelessly to uplift the poor and needy. He established several humanitarian projects to help the underprivileged, which continue to impact the lives of many to this day. Shri Abjibapa's legacy lives on through the millions of people around the world who revere him as a saint and spiritual leader.

To commemorate his life and contribution to spirituality, a Chhatri was erected in Baladia village of Kutch district of Gujarat state called "Shri Abjibapani Chhatedi". There is also a street named in his honor in Ahmedabad City called the "Abjibapa Marg".
