AMARILLO, Texas - Feb. 15, 2023 - PRLog -- Local fire Lieutenant and small business owner, Josh Craft, announced his plan to run for Amarillo City Council, Place 1. "Utilizing my conservative mindset, I'm running to be a voice of reason for you as a tax-payer. Working together, Amarillo will flourish, strengthen, and become a safer place to call home for our families and children.

Josh grew up in Amarillo (go Sandies) and attended Amarillo College. He and Ashley have been married for 5 years and have two children. They attend Trinity Fellowship Church.

After serving as a volunteer fireman, Josh joined Randall County Fire Department full-time in 2016. He was promoted into a leadership and supervisory position in 2019 to the rank of Lieutenant. Josh is a small business owner, operating Amarillo Fence Stain Unlimited which he founded in 2020. He is also an instructor at Amarillo College for the Regional Fire Academy.

Most importantly, Josh has the heart to serve others truthfully and transparently with no red tape or baggage. He will work to help restore trust in the City Council, working for the people, and not pushing an agenda.

JOSH'S PLAN
  1. Create a more transparent level of government between citizens and council
  2. Make public safety as a top priority
  3. Build better relationships with schools in Amarillo
  4. Keep taxes low and vote in the best interest of the citizens
  5. Shift the Culture. Listen to the city workers, and see what change can be made to have great retention so we don't see issues we've had in the past (ex. trash services and permitting)
  6. Find a way to take care of and retain first responders
  7. Establish accountability in Animal Management and Welfare to reduce our kill rate, stricter enforcement on animal cruelty, and work alongside with our nonprofit rescues.

Josh Craft stands on the ground of  "Faith, Family, and Freedom." He is a career public servant, small business owner, and long-time resident of Amarillo. He is a fellow citizen, not a politician. Learn more about Josh Craft at www.JoshIsOneOfUs.com.
