Popular German Wine Dinner returns to Bavarian Inn Restaurant
By: Bavarian Inn
Featuring an original menu designed and prepared by Silver Plate Award Winner Chef Phil Fahrenbruch (CEC), the evening includes a five-course dinner along with special wine pairings.
The evening's menu begins with a take on shrimp ceviche served with Dachshund Riesling. This will then be followed by the soup du jour, Vietnamese beef tendon, accompanied by Villa Wolf Medium Sweet Dornfelder. The third course is a golden beet salad with apples, beets, spinach, goat cheese and candied almonds accompanied by Loosen Bros. Dr. L Sparkling Riesling.
The main course will be a braised pork shank in red wine gravy and parsnip mashed potatoes served with Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer. For a sweet finish, guests will enjoy a brioche French toast with apple cranberry compote and vanilla bean ice cream. This will be accompanied by St. Christopher Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese.
Guest speaker Maggie Thompson from Imperial Wine will describe the characteristics of the German wines over the course of the evening. Guests will receive exclusive wine purchase offers following the meal; there is limited availability for select specialty wines.
The event is $100 per person, which includes the meal and listed wines, tax, and gratuity. Reservations and prepayment are required at Eventbrite.com.
