By: Transplant Help The Poor Foundation The conference conducted by INSHLT was led by around 350 medical professionals who participated in providing awareness about critical medical fields of heart and lung transplantation. The meeting also addressed mechanical circulatory support with a thrust on the path-breaking advancements that happened and made possible in recent years. The whole aim of the association is to create a place to educate the population of India about being volunteers and coming forward to achieve a noble cause together. India has seen a steep decline in organ donations in the last couple of years. But on the other hand, the pandemic resulted in an increase in organ donations compared to the previous years. In 2021, organ donation numbers were closer to the highest than in the last five years. These organ donations are primarily the result of deceased donations.
