MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Feb. 9, 2023 - PRLog -- Blue Heart Records is proud to announce the signing of guitarist and singer/songwriter, Gráinne Duffy. The Monaghan, Ireland-based musical pioneer with her own unique style, Duffy's music pays sincere homage to the roots, soul, blues, and rock traditions, gently enriched with Celtic elements. A three-time Blues Matters magazine Writers' Poll winner (Best Female Vocalist, 2014, 2015; Best Solo Artist, 2015), Duffy was also named Best Modern Roots Artist in the 2021 Independent Blues Awards.

Dirt Woman Blues, Duffy's sixth album, is a collaboration with multi-GRAMMY-winning producer Chris Goldsmith (Blind Boys of Alabama, Ben Harper/Charlie Musselwhite). A musical exploration of Delta Blues traditions and their extension into 70's blues rock yields a sublime contemporary blues result. Duffy supplies, in one unique mix, Irish mysticism, soulful vocals, a compelling groove, an extraordinary band, and beautifully crafted lyrics.

In eager anticipation of the May release, on March 17, Blue Heart Records will also be reissuing Voodoo Blues, Duffy's 2020 album and the potent catalyst for her growing international regard and acclaim.  It will be available in CD, vinyl and digital formats.

"We are delighted to present Dirt Woman Blues, the striking new project from Gráinne Duffy, as well as her acclaimed previous album, Voodoo Blues," says Blue Heart Records partner, Sallie Bengtson. "It is a privilege to be part of the team during this pivotal point in her expanding career."

Duffy says, "I am very excited to start this journey with Blue Heart! This is a very important step on my international exposure and I am thrilled to be working with Blue Heart on what I believe is my most powerful record in my career to date."

Preorders for Dirt Woman Blues begin April 21, 2023. Duffy will be touring the United States in April and May (Chicago, Nashville, New Orleans, Mobile) and returning in July.

"A compatriot and spiritual successor to Rory Gallagher... both delivering memorable performances characterized by expressive, emotional vocals and blistering, innovative fretwork." – American Blues Scene
