Local online farm directory gets record-breaking traffic after egg shortage

Local Hens' Traffic Increases by 300% After National Egg Shortage.

SEATTLE - Feb. 6, 2023 - PRLog -- Local Hens, a local farm finder & directory, announced today that since the recent egg shortage has started, more people have been visiting the farm to fork website than ever before. With the rising cost of eggs and limited availability on grocery store shelves, more people are opting to buy eggs from their local farms.

In January 2022, Local Hens had 9K visitors to their farm directory website. January is typically a slower month for many farms, with most farmers markets occurring in the Spring. In January 2023, however, the number of visitors jumped to 40K, an increase of roughly 300%.

This could be an important moment for local farms, whose biggest hurdle in obtaining new customers is often convenience.
