The Jerry Herman Broadway Legacy Concert will be performed Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Garden City's O'Leary Performing Arts Center. The Philharmonic will be joined by a cast of New York's top Broadway and concert performers and together will celebrate the songs and stories of a true giant of the theater, with classics from shows like "Hello Dolly," "Mame," and "La Cage Aux Folles."

Led by Conductor and Music Director Nan Washburn, now in her 24th season, the Philharmonic's magical evening includes Broadway performers Jason Graae, Debbie Gravitte, Klea Blackhurst and Ron Raines accompanied as well by pianist John Boswell.

Songs will include "Mame," "Hello Dolly," "Kiss Her Now," "I Am What I Am," "Look What Happened to Mabel," 'Before the Parade Passes By," and nearly 20 Herman classics.

Considered one of the most commercially successful Broadway songwriters of his time, Herman (1931-2019) was the composer and lyricist for a number of hit musicals, starting in the 1960s, that were characterized by an upbeat and optimistic outlook and what Herman called "the simple, hummable showtune."

Blackhurst is acclaimed for her award-winning tribute to Ethel Merman and Raines has a Tony Award nomination for his role in "Follies" by Stephen Sondheim.
