The new mintage of Britannia Coins features a new effigy of His Majesty King Charles
BRANFORD, Conn. - Jan. 17, 2023 - PRLog -- It has been tradition for nearly 1000 years that the front of the coins from the United Kingdom incorporate a picture of the reigning monarch.

With last year's death of Queen Elizabeth, the designers and sculptures at the Royal Mint have been getting new designs ready.

The coronation of King Charles is scheduled to occur in May. As part of the ascension process, new coins are being minted that feature a new adornment featuring His Majesty King Charles III.

Commonwealth countries like Australia and Canada are following the lead of The Royal Mint. The sovereigns mints from those countries will also be updating their coins with fresh designs.

The new King Charles III 2023 Britannia coin is being minted in silver, gold and platinum and is available from various online bullion dealers.

This is a rare opportunity for investor with a major design change midway the mintage year.

For 2023, there are two designs of the Britannia bullion coins being issued with opportunities for the lower mintage coins to become rare.

Premiums on the Type 1 Britannia are going to rise as the coins become scarce in the marketplace.

Speculative investors may do well buying up the Queen Elizabeth 2023 Type 1 Britannia coin and holding them.
