A fast way for new Canadian immigrants to find well-paying jobs

CALGARY, Alberta - Jan. 12, 2023 - PRLog -- Good news doesn't always happen to new immigrant Canadian job seekers that wait. Sometimes there's a way to speed up the process.

Within just eight short months after enrolling in the online Human Services Diploma program at Brookes College, new Canadian Catherine Nnenna Ogwuru landed her first interview, changing her life forever.

Her story is familiar to most new Canadians.

As a new Canadian immigrant who arrived in 2021 from Nigeria, Catherine was determined to pursue a career in human services but needed Canadian qualification or some bridge courses.

A friend from Calgary told her about the convenient online courses at Brookes College. The school took her prior education into account so she could complete its two-year Human Services Diploma in just fifty-three weeks through its accelerated program.

Five months before graduating, she got a job interview and aced it because she was well prepared for it by the instructors at the college.

"Eventually, she was offered the job and works as an Employment Support Intake Caseworker with the Government of Nova Scotia," said Brookes College's President Tomi Adeyemi.

Graduates from the program are prepared for employment in the human service, mental health, and community living fields.

Maybe one of the reasons why there are so many new Canadians finding well-paying jobs after graduating from the short online programs at Brookes College is because it is run by new Canadians for new Canadians.

The college's President Adeyemi immigrated to Canada with a Ph.D. from Surrey University, England, UK.

Brookes College also hires only high-quality instructors with strong practical and academic credentials. Instructors' compensation is also better than most of the other institutions, so it attracts the best.

The flexible online programs at Brookes College have also helped other immigrants who have been in Canada for a while stuck in dead-end jobs switch to better-paying careers.

Myra Piñero who immigrated to Canada more than ten years ago from the Philippines was stuck in the hospitality industry with unpredictable hours for a long time.

In 2021 she decided to switch careers and took the school's Diploma program in Business Administration with Accounting Specialization (https://brookescollege.ca/programs/financial-accounting-d...). The year-long journey may not have been easy for her, but it was worth it.

"Now she works full-time at Century 21 Masters, a globally recognized real estate company in Edmonton. As an office administrator, she handles most of the bookkeeping, accounts payables, invoices, and other financial duties," said Adeyemi.

This diploma opens doors to lucrative accounting fields such as accounting assistants and technicians, accountants, payable/receivable managers, bookkeepers, accounting clerks, and more.

Brookes College (https://brookescollege.ca/) also offers programs in Business Administration Diploma with a Retail Management Specialization (https://brookescollege.ca/programs/retail-management-diploma/) and Medical Office Administration and Unit Clerk Diploma.
