PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - Jan. 10, 2023 - PRLog -- LRP's National Institute on Legal Issues of Educating Individuals with Disabilities®, the leading source for compliance strategies, best practices and case updates impacting special education programs, announced six tailored learning tracks that will include more than 35 sessions during the conference taking place April 16 - 19, 2023 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans.

The six focused tracks include:
  • Administration: This track is geared toward special education leaders who develop systems, programs, processes and policies that strengthen the working environment, support student achievement, optimize resources and enhance organizational outcomes.
  • Behavior: Special education directors, directors of school mental health and behavioral services, school psychologists, behavior specialists, clinical services coordinators, and trauma trainers will get the latest strategies to approach discipline dilemmas and student mental health under federal laws.
  • Ethics: Attorneys can earn continuing legal education credits, or CLEs, by attending one or both sessions in this track based on application of the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct in the special education context.
  • IDEA: With sessions for every role in special education, this track includes comprehensive coverage of schools' obligations to provide all children with disabilities with a free appropriate public education.
  • Section 504: The goal of this track is to assist Section 504 coordinators, administrators, social workers, counselors and service providers in building a better understanding of how to avoid discrimination claims and provide all students an equal opportunity.
  • Special Ed Connection® Users Group: In this track, attendees will learn how to maximize their subscription to Special Ed Connection and use this innovative online resource to advance staff knowledge and skills related to best practices, the latest court decisions, compliant policies and more.

"With six tracks, the Institute offers topics for everyone on your special education team. From principals, to executive directors of student support services, to program specialists, there's a session that will target their toughest challenges," said Julie J. Kline, Esq., Vice President, LRP Media Group and Conference Chair. The best part is that you aren't tied to a track. Attend an IDEA session on child find, then attend a Special Ed Connection® Users Group session to discover ready-made resources for staff training."
