CEDAR HILL, Texas - Jan. 6, 2023 - PRLog -- Dr. Charla Griffy-Brown, editor-in-chief for the international journal "Technology in Society," will be the keynote speaker for the fourth iteration of Recharged Conference, which will focus on pragmatic issues, emotional intelligence and technical skills.

"The technology enabled, hyper-connected world of the 21st century has the potential to provide great benefits to our social, economic and political systems. However, technology also brings with it significant concerns and questions that civil society should address in order to create together the future we want," said Griffy-Brown. "I'm excited to be a part of this discourse and engage more individuals in this critical conversation."

For Recharged Conference, Dr. Griffy-Brown will include a discussion on the intersectionality of poverty and technology.

This year's conference theme is "R4th – Reset, Rebuild, Renew to Recharge," said conference founder Sharon Egiebor.

The emotional intelligence issues, falling under the reset category, include a session on coping by Cherelle Wilson, M.Ed., principal of Nita Pearson Elementary School in the Garland Independent School District, and a mind wellness/yoga experience taught by life coach JuNene K., BA, M.S. in psychology."

The conference will include lessons learned by entrepreneur Ulysses Hollimon, Jr., the owner of Prescient Software, Inc., based in Atlanta. Mr. Hollimon, B.E.E, MCS, said he had to rebuild his skills and retrain when he transitioned from aviation engineering to computer engineering and then to computer software.

Therelee D. Washington, II., owner of the nonprofit Texas Premiere Technology Institute, headquartered in Addison, Texas, will give details on how to rebuild a career by accessing technical job training and then translating that into employment. Among his firm contracts, is an arrangement with Texas Workforce Commission to retrain the unemployed and underemployed, and Tarrant County Community College as their IT Academy Partner, he said.

The motivational speaker will be Chef Felicia Guimont, owner of Southern Best Catering and OMG Cakes. Guimont, who uses several technical platforms in her catering business, will share why perseverance is necessary for business success.
