Gibbons is a commercial broker who has been recognized among his peers as an expert in his field. Not only is he a part of the SIOR organization, but he is also an accredited member of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member), a designation awarded by the CCIM Institute. He is also a member of Business Navigators, that helps each other and uplift the business community through the principle of servant leadership. With more than thirty years of experience in his field, Gibbons said, "I had the idea for the book maybe 15 years ago and started writing it maybe 12 years ago. There were times when I would set it aside and not look at it for 3-4 years." The new author also mentioned how relieved he was once the book was published since the concept, planning and writing took almost 15 years to complete. At the same time, he exclaimed, "It's a great sense of accomplishment as well. I'm excited to have the book finished and have it available to help others do better deals and be better prepared to negotiate with their landlords." He also confessed that his favorite confession is in Chapter 1 of his book, which he says is the most important titled, Friend or Foe?. The confession is critical because he wants his readers to understand how the landlord will treat a tenant far differently if they are represented by an experienced tenant rep versus if they are doing it alone. You should never enter a complex commercial lease or purchase negotiation without an expert dedicated solely to your interests providing advice. His wife Jan said that Bob began this CORL journey about 15 years ago when he created the tagline for a networking group, he was a part of. We had no idea it would grow and take on a life of its own!
