Garden City Realty owner, Lee Hewitt, receives SC Farm Bureau Legislator of the Year Award

GARDEN CITY, S.C. - Dec. 16, 2022 - PRLog -- Garden City Realty, Inc., a full-service real estate firm, is pleased to announce that its Broker-In-Charge of Sales, Lee Hewitt, SC House Representative, District 108, was awarded the Legislator of the Year Award from the SC Farm Bureau. The award was presented at the bureau's Welcome Dinner in Myrtle Beach on Dec. 1, 2022.

"The award recognizes the efforts of those who went above and beyond in their commitment to agriculture during the most recent legislative season. The awards are presented to individuals who exemplify the insight and effort to support South Carolina's farmers and the vast business of agriculture," said Farm Bureau President Harry Ott.

Rep. Hewitt is the owner of Garden City Realty and has served as President of the Coastal Carolina Association of REALTORS (CCAR) and on the South Carolina REALTORS® (SCR) board. In addition, he is a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), a Certified Professional Mediator (CPM), and a graduate of the Realtors Institute (GRI).

Hewitt is active within his community and has served the local government in many capacities. He has held numerous positions on various committees, including the Georgetown Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals Chairman, Georgetown County Comprehensive Land Use Plan Committee, Grand Strand Area Transportation Committee, and the Southern Evacuation Lifeline Road Task Force.

In 2014, Hewitt was appointed by Gov. Nikki Haley and confirmed by the state Senate as the 7th Congressional District Representative to the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control Board of Directors.

In 2018, he was named SCR's Legislator of the Year, the first freshman legislator to win the award.

Hewitt is a House Majority Whip and serves on the Ways and Means committee.

He is an active Belin Memorial United Methodist Church member in Murrells Inlet.
