Media Advisory - AAS23 Call for Papers!

WASHINGTON - Dec. 9, 2022 - PRLog -- We are excited to announce the Call for Papers for the 56^th Annual American Association of Suicidology Conference.

We will continue Expanding the Lens in Suicide Prevention: What Next? This conference is particularly interested in submissions that examine contextual, social, and emerging upstream factors in suicide theory, research, and prevention. With particular focus on communities with concerning suicide rates including Black youth, Latina teens, male elders, and LGBTQIA+ youth. We will also address those with lived experience, the expansion of crisis services continuum and impact of the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

The primary objectives of AAS23 are to:

• Identify new, innovative, and evolving research that will help prevent suicides and support those impacted by suicide
• Better equip those on the front line of prevention with evidence-based practice tools
• Embrace and integrate equity into presentations and conversations

The deadline for submissions is January 6, 2023 at 11:59 pm EST.

The AAS2023 conference will provide both a dynamic in-person experience from Wednesday, April 19 to Saturday, April 22 in Portland, Oregon, and limited virtual options with meaningful interactive experiences. (Presenters are required to be present on-site.)
