SnapCo. and Citizen Safety App partner to combat BlackTrans Violence in the City of Atlanta

ATLANTA - Dec. 4, 2022 - PRLog -- Solutions Not Punishment Collaborative (SnapCo.) with great excitement and anticipation announces our newest partnership with Citizen, the world's fastest-growing community safety app. Citizen received a grant from the Goodwater Collective to provide free access to their premium service for one year for SnapCo. members who are in need of safety alternatives in real-time, along with verified community-oriented alerts to avoid nearby threats.

Despite having an extensive Black Trans and Queer community, Atlanta is known for fatal violence targeted at trans people, specifically, Black trans women. With this partnership, Citizen is providing accessible access to a digital safety network that protects the Black Trans community in the city of Atlanta and nation-wide.

Citizen's current premium service is $20 a month/$240 a year, making it financially unfeasible for many underserved communities that are in need of safety alternatives. By creating a safe community through this partnership SnapCo. members will be giving Citizen app staff DEI training that focuses on embodied leadership, and ending violence in marginalized communities. This partnership is just one offering in SnapCo's Trans Safety Initiative, providing a holistic approach to keep Black and trans people in less contact with police and in deeper relationships with self and community. In 2023, SnapCo will be offering community Expungement and Document Clinics and will host interactive community conversations about safety and accountability within Black and LGBTQ+ communities.
