Spielberg is the winner of the Los Alamitos Futurity, a Group 2 stakes race, as a two-year-old and he was 2nd in Del Mar Futurity, a Group 1 stakes race, over seven furlongs. With 3 wins from distances of 8 furlongs to 8.5 furlongs and starting his new career in stud with a total career prize money of $546,900.

Spielberg ran 2nd to Dr Schivel in Del Mar Futurity G1 over 7 furlongs defeating Weston. He ran 3rd to Get her number and Rombauer in the Santa Anita American Pharoah Gr.1 race over 8.5 furlongs. Spielberg won the Los Alamitos Futurity G2 over 8.5 furlongs defeating The Great One and Petruchio.

At 3:

Spielberg was 2nd to Essential Quality in Southwest Stakes G3 in Oaklawn Park over 8.5 furlongs, defeating Jackie's Warrior.

At 4:

Spielberg ran 4th in San Pasqual Stakes, a Group 2 race in Santa Anita over 8.5 furlongs and ran 4th in Santa Anita Handicap, a Group 1 race in Santa Anita over 10 furlongs.

Spielberg ran 3rd Californian Stakes, a Group two race in Santa Anita over 9 furlongs.
