NEW YORK - Nov. 11, 2022 - PRLog -- The NYC Basket Brigade Inc. announces its annual 2022 drive to feed hundreds of hungry families in need in Brooklyn, The Bronx, Yonkers, and Westchester County for Thanksgiving. The Brooklyn site will be packing baskets on Saturday, November 5, 2022, and will be providing food to those in need in neighborhoods located near the Brownsville location. The Westchester site will be packing and collating baskets of food in Hartsdale, NY on Monday, November 14, 2022 through Friday, November 18, 2022 with deliveries to be made to families in neighborhoods located in The Bronx, Yonkers and Westchester County.

"The New York Basket Brigade is built on a simple notion: one small act of generosity on the part of one caring person can transform the lives of hundreds. It takes only one light to dispel the darkness, and even just one basket or a few, to bring hope! A Basket Brigade takes place when one individual prepares one basket to personally deliver to a needy family or individual," said Frank Clark, President of the NYC Basket Brigade.

The NYC and Westchester Basket Brigades have been feeding families in need in the New York City tri-state area since 1996. They are an all-volunteer run organization that has collectively fed more than 50,000 people in the New York City area since their inception.

In prior years, corporate sponsors have included FreshDirect, Newman's Own Organics, Duncan Hines, Tyson Foods, Goya, WishBone, Pinnacle Foods, and more.

"It's such joy to come together as a community each year as we see so many families in need become resourceful, simply from delivering a Thanksgiving basket that includes an encouraging note from 'a friend' to lift their spirits and inspire them to help themselves and others. This is a truly season of giving and coming together as New Yorkers for a greater purpose," said Joseph Varghese, Marketing & Community Engagement Director, Brooklyn.
