Follow on Google News | Dranoff 2 Piano presents Rachmaninoff and his Legacy – RACH150By: Dranoff 2 Piano Asiya Korepanova and Ilya Kazantsev will perform the gorgeous two piano suites of Rachmaninoff giving a bravura performance of the rich romance and beauty that made Rachmaninoff a superstar. The piano duo met at Moscow University and delved deeply into the Russian romantic music and the European influences that made him a leader of era. Each has lived and performed in the United States for over 10 years reuniting as a duo with the dazzling display of technique and romance that defines their career today. In addition to the birthday celebration of Rachmaninoff, Asiya and Ilya (Duo 88 by 20) will perform Bach and Brahms illustrating the contra punctual nature and the deep romantic webs of Rachmaninoff. "Rachmaninoff and his Legacy – RACH150" takes place on Saturday, November 5th at 7:30pm at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center located at 3385 NE 188th Street, Aventura, FL 33180. About the Artists Pianists Asiya Korepanova and Ilya Kazantsev met two decades ago as classmates at the Central Music School under Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. They have always enjoyed playing together. Successful career paths brought them to different continents and cities they reconnected in 2019 as new residents of Boston, Massachusetts. Finally able to make their longtime dream come true: they now begin publicly performing as the '88 by 20' duo. Though initial plans were halted by the pandemic, Asiya and Ilya made their public debut at the Third Dimension festival in Oregon in August 2021.
