Follow on Google News | Local Talk Show Host Highlights Greek Heritage Society of Southern CaliforniaBy: A&R Media Since January, "Living Your Best Life with Rosalyn Kahn" has been featuring different ethnic groups because host, Rosalyn Kahn, believes that exploring different cultures is part of living one's best life. In previous episodes, Rosalyn has highlighted Indians, Egyptians, the Irish, and now she is airing an interesting interview that focuses on the Greek-American community in Southern California. "The Greeks Americans of Southern California represent multiple generations who continue to honor the rich culture, deep heritage, language, and the traditions their ancestors brought to this new land. We are proud to share our mission to help preserve that history with Rosalyn," said Greek Heritage Society President, Bessie Karras-Lazaris. Earlier this fall, Rosalyn sat down with three board members of the Greek Heritage Society: Bessie Karras-Lazaris, President; Anna Giannotis, Writer/ Director of GHS Documentary Films; and Zoye Marino Fidler, Vice President and a GHS founding member. They talked about the Greek American diaspora in Southern California and how their organization came to be formed 37 years ago. Most importantly, the interview highlighted the three documentaries that the GHS has produced and boasts of the late Olympia Dukakis as the narrator. "The purpose of the three documentaries was to highlight and inform the community about Greek-American history through the oral histories of community members who represented each generation," Rosalyn enjoyed learning more about the Greek American culture, food, music, and dance. This episode has furthered her appetite for cultural diversity and awareness, and she looks forward to highlighting more cultures in upcoming episodes.
