PALM COAST, Fla. - Oct. 28, 2022 - PRLog -- Dr. Kevin M. James, Sr., Senior Pastor at Palm Coast United Methodist Church, is pleased to announce that the church has sold their current property and church located at 5200 Belle Terre Pkwy in Palm Coast last month. The church is leasing the building back from the new owner and is building a new campus at 6500 Belle Terre Pkwy in Palm Coast.

"We plan on staying at the current location until the new church is completed," said Pastor James. "We are looking forward to building God's church for the future today," Pastor James added.

The campus building includes a state-of-the-art multi-purpose and sanctuary space, administrative offices, youth center, multiple meeting rooms, full kitchen, and expansive public gathering space. Located on the campus will be a columbarium, which is a structure of vaults with recesses in the walls to hold urns containing cremated remains. 200 initial spaces will be constructed and available for church members and member's families.

Building God's Way (BGW) Architects designed the new campus. They have designed more than 1,000 churches and Christian schools nationwide since 1997. The COLLAGE Companies, located in Lake Mary, is building the new campus.

The church bought 22 acres for a new church campus at the Mantanzas Woods site in 1999. The new 25,500 square foot campus will be located at the southeast corner of Matanzas Woods Parkway and Belle Terre Parkway. The $7.1 million project had languished until church member Larry Torino, who also is city planner for Flagler Beach, proposed selling some of the 22 acres the church owned to help subsidize a new campus. The City of Palm Coast approved rezoning 10 of the acres for commercial usage, which led to Dollar General buying one parcel - its retail store, fronting on Matanzas Woods parkway, is up and operating. St. Augustine-based Flagler Health+ bought two parcels totaling almost eight acres, with plans to create a "health village (https://flaglerlive.com/143213/florida-hospital-matanzas-...)" at the site that will include a family practice, behavioral health services, orthopedics, specialty care, imaging and laboratory services.

"Our goal is that this new campus meets not just the spiritual needs of youth and families in Flagler County but beyond," said Pastor James. "We are excited to share our construction journey with the community," he added. Those interested in sharing the journey are invited to follow at www.palmcoastchurch.org.
