By: Michigan Philharmonic Led by Conductor and Music Director Nan Washburn, now in her 24th season, the Philharmonic will offer a family-friendly evening featuring scary classics and a freaky long list of fun movie themes and highlights. Everyone is encouraged to wear costumes, and fans will want to watch for what new costume Washburn will unveil – a tradition she began many years ago at the Phil's first Halloween concert. Beginning at 7 p.m., the performance will include Johann Sebastian Bach's "Toccata in D Minor, BWV 565," Johann Strauss II's "Overture to Die Fledermaus," Movie themes planned for the evening include "To Kill a Mockingbird" The concert will conclude with Michael Jackson's "Thriller." Besides regular ticket prices, the Philharmonic is offering a special ticket package of just $50 for a family of four (each additional child's ticket is $5).
