Local Couple Launches Home Helpers Home Care Franchise in Honor of Veteran Father

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Oct. 5, 2022 - PRLog -- When Paul Watkins, a father, grandfather and Vietnam veteran, was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and dementia, his family was faced with a lot of questions. As his health declined and they tried to figure out the best way to make sure Paul got the care he needed with the dignity he deserved, they realized they weren't the only ones looking for those kinds of services.

Now Paul's son, Stephen, and daughter-in-law, Lyly, are excited to announce the launch of their own in-home care franchise, Home Helpers Home Care. Paul is their first client.

"Papa lives with us now, but originally we were two hours away with two small children and careers of our own. As we started to run through the scenarios, we realized we needed to find the right kind of caregiver who could help him stay happy, healthy and independent," Lyly said. "By opening Home Helpers, we can provide the best care for our loved one and for the loved ones of other people here in our community."

Home Helpers Home Care offers the industry's leading model for comprehensive care with its unique care program, Cared-4SM, which provides the four necessary components to living independently. This includes Companionship care, Nutrition and Meal Planning, 24/7 Emergency Response, and Wellness Calls to help ensure medications and hydration are maintained. The Watkins' local Home Helpers serves Franklin, Brentwood and all over the Nashville major metro.

Lyly has a background in public service and as a small business owner. Stephen also has experience owning a small business as well as a background in sales, management and finance. The couple is involved with local Parkinson's support groups as well as the Veterans' Administration. They also are excited to welcome their trusted friend, Justin Pledger, as their lead caregiver.

Families looking for dependable, in-home care by caregivers who are fully trained, background checked, and insured can call Home Helpers for a free in-home consultation. During this visit, the Watkins' team will conduct an in-home assessment to create an effective and financially-conscious care plan. All staff members are following strict CDC guidelines to protect clients, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Home Helpers is different because Lyly and I completely understand what our clients are going through – we're going through it too. We understand the challenges they are facing, we share the same worries, and we know, personally, the kind of positive impact the right caregiver can make," Stephen said.
