The Annual Lobster & Grouse Dinner at Tyddyn Llan

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Oct. 5, 2022 - PRLog -- On Sunday 23 October, Bryan and Susan Webb, owners of Michelin-recommended, gourmet bolthole Tyddyn Llan Restaurant with Rooms, in the village of Llandrillo in north Wales, will be staging the annual lobster and grouse wine dinner.

The dinner will be hosted by Simon Awdry of Liberty wines, to talk guests through the wine pairing for each course.

The evening will commence with canapés, and dishes on the menu crafted by Bryan, who is widely regarded as one of the best chefs in Wales, will include:
  • Salt baked beetroot with wilted Treviso and buffalo Mozzarella (accompanied by 'Pipoli' Bianco, Vigneti del Vulture, Basilicata, Italy 2021)
  • Pembroke lobster grilled with coriander, lime, and ginger butter (with Organic Rosato delle Conchiglie, Poggiotondo, Tuscany, Italy 2021)
  • Roast grouse with game chips, hispi cabbage and bread sauce (with Langhe Nebbiolo, Corino Giovanni di Corino Giuliano, Piedmonte, Italy 2020)
  • Selection of British farmhouse cheese from Neal's Yard Dairy (with 'Canace' Nero di Troia, Cantina Diomede, Puglia, Italy 2018)
  • Damson soup with poached blackberries and cinnamon ice cream (with 'Kabir' Moscato di Pantelleria, Donnafugata, Sicily, Italy 2021)

The wine dinner costs £160 per person, and for those who wish to stay the night, rooms are available from £190 for a standard room, £230 for a large room, and £250 for a best room (B&B).

The Georgian property which was once the private shooting lodge of the Duke of Westminster, has just 13 rooms, and is at the foot of the Berwyn Mountains, with great walks available direct from the doorstep (free guides available).

The hotel can also arrange transport to Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls from where you can make the eight mile walk over the top of the Berwyn Mountains back to Tyddyn Llan, building up an appetite for dinner.
