Highridge Costa Starts Construction On 50-unit Affordable Housing Development In Broomfield, Co

BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Sept. 13, 2022 - PRLog -- Affordable housing developer and owner Highridge Costa has recently started construction on Northwest Apartments, a community of 50 affordable workforce rental homes for families earning 30 to 60 percent of the Area Median Income, or AMI.

Located in a high-growth, urban renewal area of the City of Broomfield midway between the cities of Denver and Boulder, these apartments will be part of the Via Varra master-planned community. In addition, Northwest Apartment residents will have access to a new, three-acre public park with picnic tables, a playground, walking trails and views.

Designed by Denver-based Santulan Architecture, the four-story, stand-alone building's exterior blends in with the surrounding neighborhood with a craftsman style by emphasizing horizontal lines and featuring stone veneer and earth tone vinyl siding.  In addition, sustainable design elements that reduce energy consumption and the building's carbon footprint adhere to Enterprise Green Communities 2020 criteria.

Future residents will enjoy easy access to employment centers from Denver though Boulder via close proximity to US-36, as well as with the state's Regional Transportation District (RTD) Rapid Transit options, while families with children will benefit from the highly rated Boulder Valley School District.

Of the 50 units, 16 homes will include one bedroom and one bath, 26 homes (including an on-site manager's unit) will offer two bedrooms and two baths, and 8 homes will offer three bedrooms and two baths.

Residences will feature patios and balconies, quartz countertops, a range and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, air conditioning, garbage disposal, window coverings and high-speed internet connections.  Community amenities for the new apartments will include a clubroom, fitness center, play area, small dog park, laundry rooms and secure, indoor storage for bicycles.

Highridge Costa estimates that the new community will be completed and placed in service by late fall 2023.
