JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia - Sept. 9, 2022 - PRLog -- It is because of the occurrence of some important events in the month of Rabi ul-Awwal. It is significant for followers of Islam. Muslims consider it a blissful month as it was in this month that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born. He was highly predicted by people for a long time. As Prophets' birth is said to have been known and mentioned by Isa five centuries earlier.

12 Rabi ul-Awwal or Eid e Milad

There are different opinions regarding the exact birth date of the holy Prophet (peace be upon him). A major section of the community celebrates his birth on the 12 Rabi ul-Awwal. The 12th Rabi ul-Awwal is also known as Eid e Milad and is celebrated as the birthday of Prophet Muhammad. Celebrating Prophets gives the world a message that Islam is a religion of peace. This is what Prophet the messenger for Allah preached.

12 Rabi ul Awal Celebrations

The 12 Rabi ul Awal may be celebrated in different countries on different dates as it depends on the moon sighting. In most Islamic countries 12 Rabi ul Awal is declared a public holiday. Muslims celebrate the day in different ways to show their respect and love for the last messenger of Allah.

In mosques, green color flags are hosted as it is believed to be the favorite color of the Prophet. The green color was selected by the Prophet to symbolize Islam at that time. Muslims offer special prayers in mosques, where religious scholars preach about Prophet Mohammad his teachings of tolerance, serving mankind, peace, forgiveness, and his practices Muslims wear green colors and carry out special rallies and processions to pay tribute to their Holy Prophet Mohammad. Muslims cook special food and distribute it generously in mosques, streets, and homes.

In the year 2022, the month of Rabi ul Awwal 2022 will begin on 26 September. 12 Rabi ul Awwal 2022 or Eid e Milad will be celebrated on 07 Oct 2022 or 08 Oct 2022 depending on the sighting of the moon. Although like other holy months there are no special rituals or recommendations for fasting. But Muslims are recommended to perform some good deeds or religious acts during this month especially on 12 Rabi ul Awwal to make the most of this day. It is advised to perform more salutations upon Allah to seek his blessings.
