LOS ANGELES - Sept. 7, 2022 - PRLog -- Domestic violence is a serious issue plaguing our society, and studies show that it is not getting better. Everyday, millions of people around the world suffer some form of abuse at home or from a partner. Public resources are spread thin, and there is simply not enough to go around. Thanks to nonprofit organizations such as SAHARA (Caring the South Asian Community), some of those people are getting the help that they so desperately need.

SAHARA is a South Asian organization that started in 1991. Several of the founders came from a medical background where they saw a need to help victims of domestic violence in their community. Based in Artesia, Calif., the group works to support women and men who are trapped in abusive relationships, particularly those of color or South Asian heritage. The group has a telephone hotline that serves thousands of people every month.

"Living Your Best Lifeā€¦" host Rosalyn Kahn met the directors of SAHARA at a networking event. "I was so impressed by the work they were doing in the community that I decided it was a story that had to be told," she said.

Kahn interviewed the team in their Southern California office where they talked about their future plans and how much they value serving the Southern California South Asian community. "We try very hard to make sure domestic violence is prevented and dealt with in a timely manner," said director Paula Panditt.

The episode aired on Chow Entertainment KXLA on Tuesday, September 6 at 11 a.m. To view the episode, watch it on YouTube at
