Glen Harris presents his thoughts under headings of the seven days of the week. The author finds life difficult to understand, so he presents his epiphanies in didactic verse, which give moral instruction and offer pause for thought. He says, "We live, we learn, we hope, and ultimately, we leave this plane of existence with the last lesson of life being a personal one." His words will strike a chord with their thoughtful resonance: A truly intelligent person knows that they know nothing. A truly wise person knows that there is always more to learn. A truly pious person knows to look for fault in oneself and not in others. Yet more words of wisdom: An intelligent person admires others and learns what they can from them or recruits fundamental individuals to complete the task at hand. A good person does whatever is needed to make ends meet to the best of their abilities. A foolish person looks on everyone with envy for what they lack the skill to do, or the courage to do, or what they will not do. The past cannot be changed. Accept it, learn from it, and do your best to come to terms with it. The future cannot be foretold. Accept it and apply your lessons from the past to help produce a positive outcome no matter the circumstances you may find yourself in. About the Author: Glen Harris grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, and currently lives in San Antonio, Texas. He is a comic book writer and artist, and this is his first book of poetry.
