NC A&T's Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship & Innovation Creates A One-Of-A-Kind Event

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Aug. 21, 2022 - PRLog -- NC A&T has a lot to celebrate. The former Aggie-Eagle Classic, the rival football game between A&T's Aggies and NC Central's Eagles is legendary.  2022 is the 100th year of the Classic, and it is being commemorated with a new name: The Duke's Mayo Classic; a new location: Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, NC and new players wanting to make an impact on the event and the HBCU community at large.

Queue The Classic Excellence Weekend. The brainchild of the Center's new Executive Director, Joel Wiggins and the nation's largest Black Automotive Dealer, Damian Mills, this event was especially curated to satisfy the most discriminating of tastes. "We were tired of the same old same old when it comes to HBCUs coming together," says Wiggins. "We wanted to create an event that we would attend at this stage in our lives." The result, Classic Excellence, a series of gatherings for networking, tailgating and fellowshipping in an upscale, refined environment.

The weekend kicks off on Friday, September 2 at the Business Before Pleasure cocktail
reception. The goal of the event is to get business leaders in one room to meet, share ideas, and create collaborations. Attendees will also experience a driving event hosted by Bentley and Mercedes-Benz. On Saturday, September 3, patrons are invited to a Premium Tailgating event inside the Bank of America Stadium. Not your typical tailgate, guests will enjoy gourmet snacks and sips while connecting with business leaders from across the nation. Afterwards, guests can move to their stadium seats inside the Director's Box to watch the game. On Sunday, September 4, Classic Excellence guests will indulge in a gourmet brunch, themed Driven To Soar. The brunch will feature special messages by Damian Mills, CEO of Mills Automotive Group and Joel Wiggins, CEO of The mPowerdigm Group. In addition to being a weekend to remember, The Classic Excellence Weekend also serves as a fundraising event for The Center of Excellence in Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Proceeds will be used to advance the agenda of the Center, which is to strengthen the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation on the campus, increase research leading to new programs and technologies, foster collaboration between the university and community partners, and drive economic development in the community and beyond.
