NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - Aug. 12, 2022 - PRLog -- Waterway Advocates is bringing accessible climate action to North Miami Beach this weekend. On Saturday, August 13, at 9 am, volunteers will be planting native species and revitalizing critical pollinator habitats at the historic Greynolds Park. This is the first of many green spaces popping up throughout South Florida as part of the non-profit's Nature Hubs & Pollination Stations program.

"Revitalizing green spaces is an essential component of our plan to combat climate change," said Ben Swanson, Co-Executive Director of Waterway Advocates. The Greynolds Pollination Station is the kick-off to a series of events encouraging residents to harness the power of soil and plants to reduce their carbon footprint, all while conserving endangered pollinator habitats and creating healthier waterways.

Volunteers are asked to pre-register at Space is limited, but Waterway Advocates encourages anyone interested to join the team for some fun on Saturday. Historic Greynolds Park is located at 17530 W Dixie Hwy, North Miami Beach, FL 33160. This initiative is made possible with generous support from TD Charitable Foundation and Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces.

Waterway Advocates is challenging communities to improve their ecosystems by implementing nature hubs and pollination stations in Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Our mission is to facilitate meaningful service-learning experiences that engage communities in beautifying and protecting our ecosystems.
