Zambian President decides to abolish the death penalty row

LUSAKA, Zambia - Aug. 12, 2022 - PRLog -- Zambian President recently made a stunning announcement. President Hakainde Hichilema, on Africa Day, announced that he plans to abolish Death Penalty. President calls the practice to be degrading and inhumane. The announcement has received significant support since its release. Dr. Rajan Mahtani has extended his full support towards this decision. Dr. Mahtani stated that the practice of death penalty does not resolve the problems of crimes across the nation.There is a growing consensus towards abolishment of death penalty as a legal punishment. Dr. Mahtani also stated that living with death penalty is itself a significant punishment. The decision from the Zambian President has been lauded by Dr. Mahtani. Dr. Mahtani stated that it is a long road from making announcement and ensuring that it becomes an actual law. This will require significant legal and regulatory overhaul and roadblocks from government, bureaucracy. Dr. Mahtani's company, Prison Fellowship, will provide legal and regulatory support.
